Valley of the Giants Tree Top Walk

This unique area of highest conservation value derives its name from the massive Red Tingle Trees that are found here. Tingle trees are part of the Eucalyptus family, they are giant gum trees. The area east of Walpole belongs to the Walpole-Nornalup National Park, a park which includes 20,000 ha of towering tingle and karri trees and to coastal heathland. The rugged coastline, tranquil inlets and rivers are major features of the area's beauty. The Tree Top Walk is made of a number of 60 m lightweight steel trusses built on steel pylons which form a secure ramp. A walkway leads high up into the treetops; since it is built on the side of a natural valley, the walkway rises up above the forest floor on a gentle grade which makes it suitable for kids, the elderly and even people in wheelchairs. The highest point in the 600 m loop is about 40 m above ground.
