Flinders Chase National Park
This magnificent national park lies towards the far west coast of Kangaroo Island and includes some of the most stunning coastal landscapes on the island. It covers a vast area of pristine wilderness and is a refuge for a diverse wildlife and a number of rare and endangered marine animals. The park is managed by the South Australian Parks and Wildlife service, it includes three different reserves (Cape du Couedic and Rocky River in the south west, Gosse Lands in the north east and Cape Borda Lightstation on north western tip of the island) and it covers an area of almost 33,000 ha. There is an excellent visitor facility, the “Flinders Chase Visitor Centre” offers visitors innovative and exciting interpretive experiences, locally based rangers are happy to answer any question guests may have and there is even the inviting “Chase Café”, serving fresh food all day.
