Sapphire Coast
The Sapphire Coast is a region with rivers, mountains and beaches of unsurpassed beauty; it is located six hours drive south of Sydney. The area has a unique coastline with deserted beaches, peaceful rainforest, pristine rivers and lakes and an amazing mountain range as a backdrop. The region is well known and liked for its deep-sea fishing off Bermagui, whale watching (in season) at Eden, the award-winning cheeses at Bega and an important Aboriginal cultural heritage around Wallaga Lake. One can explore the many cliffs and sea caves at Mimosa Rock National Park, enjoy the magnificent views from Boyd’s Tower in Ben Boyd National Park or take a drive along the food, wine and art trail along the Tathra to Bermagui Road.
