Riverina

The Riverina region is called the Food Bowl or Fruit Basket of the East. It is located in the south west of New South Wales and produces nearly 90% of the state’s fruit and vegetables and 25% of all Australian fruit and vegetables. It is also a major supplier for beef and wool and it is the supplier of 80% of the wine grape production in New South Wales. Next to its agricultural importance it is also a region ideal for a holiday, visitors can enjoy nice restaurants and pubs, have a game of golf, go horse riding, visit national parks, go for a ride in a hot air balloon and so much more. Major towns are Wagga Wagga, Griffith and Narrandera, the latter being famous for its Koala Regeneration Reserve where one can take guided walks with expert guides.
