Hunter Valley

The Hunter Valley is Australia’s oldest commercial wine growing region. It was established in the 1820’s and is only a two hours drive from Sydney. The region is home to over 120 wineries, from the well known international giants like Wyndham Estate, Lindemans or De Bortoli to the very small family owned vineyards. The Hunter is one of the most visited wine regions of Australia. The region is best known for its high quality Semillons, Shiraz’s and Chardonnays, but other grapes like Verdelho, Cabernet or Mourvedre are successfully grown as well. Apart from vineyards there are plenty of restaurants, breweries, cheese factories, olive farms and other local produce to be explored.
