Bunbury
The third largest city in Western Australia, after Perth and Mandurah, Bunbury, has a population of over 57,000. There is a university and deepwater port facility which services large areas of the South West. Bunbury is 175 km south of Perth and lies North of Geographe Bay, one of the most scenic and beautiful bays in Western Australia. Bunbury is a business centre and traffic hub for the southwest, and offers the major benefits of city-living in a beautiful seaside setting with a country pace. It is an ideal base from which to explore the region; within an hour’s drive, there is picturesque countryside with orchards around Donnybrook, lush green pastures in the Harvey region and vineyards throughout the undulating Geographe wine region. Of special interest is the Dolphin Discovery Centre, this interpretive facility provides information on the many aspects of the large bottlenose dolphin population that inhabits the warm and protected bays of Bunbury.
