Eungella National Park
Well off the main route, Eungella National Park is an area of outstanding conservation value; the relative height creates a unique environment for many endangered species of plants and animals. Visitors particularly enjoy the scenic Finch Hatton Gorge section of the park where waterfalls, cool rock pools and walking tracks are simply breathtaking. The real highlight of any visit to the park must be the spotting of a platypus, those shy creatures of the clear mountain streams that defy anything scientists have ever declared possible and normal. the local visitors centre provides abundant information on these mysterious creatures.
